Q: Can I fit it myself? / How hard is it to install?

A: It's hard for us to say what someone else can or can not do but the harder parts of this upholstery project that definitely require a professional, are done for you by us, being the cutting and sewing of the leather, but that's not to say the trims will just fall on and look great, it does take some time, effort and finesse to get them looking great on the seats. Q: Can you fix my Monaro front door trims?

A: There is only one way to do these and that is properly and to do it is a tonne of work and very special materials, the suede is genuine Alcantara and has to be redone, cannot be reused and is $220 p/metre then the vinyl is $55 p/metre, then we have to get super thin 2mm EVA foam specially cut for us, then there are heaps of hours in just cleaning them up, ready to start the process of re-trimming them. Our price to do the front 2 doors is $3500, which I am sure seems like a lot but it's just a nuts amount of hours. Hardly any other trimmers even want to touch these and/or have the skill to do them. I (Cam personally) am prepared to do them but I need to be paid for the time it takes to do them properly.

Q: What is the warranty period? & What is covered under the warranty?

A: We offer a 4 year warranty on all our leather seats trim kits and most other parts & accessories.

We will happily replace any trim part that meets the below conditions:

  • Has worn prematurely before the 4 year warranty is complete.
  • Stitching has worn our come undone

What is not covered?

  • Non general, intended use damage caused by something sharp like a screwdriver in your pocket, keys on your belt etc.

Basically if you just get in and out of your seats normally, with normal clothes on, without any sharp metal studs or similar and the leather or stitching wears, we will replace that part with a new trim.

(Note: No labour will be paid for by SeatSkins, only replacement parts).

We have an excellent (almost zero returns) track record and our products are so well made that we are super confident nothing will happen due to our materials quality or workmanship, but if it does please rest assured we will willingly help resolve the issue straight away.

Q: Do you have these kits in stock?

A: The majority of our kits are made to order with a lead time of between 2-3 weeks. We do stock a few popular models, but being popular means someone may buy just before you and then we would still need to make yours up, or you may get lucky. We also have some “On Sale” one-off kits in stock, you can check them out here: https://leatherseats.com.au/collections/on-sale

Q: I can see you make a 5 seater kit but I just want a single trim piece, can I buy it?

A: Yes you can buy a single trim, Let us know what you need and a team member will write you up a custom quote or send you a link for the product.

Q: My VE SS leather seat has ripped, should I get it repaired or replace the trim.

A: VE SS factory leather tends to dry out and Shrink in Australian conditions so your local motor trimmer may deem it not worth repairing and recommend it is replaced with a full new trim. If that is the case, Seatskins can supply the leather trim/s in all factory style leather interior options. And many custom options.

Q: Can I put VF GTS foams on VE seats?.

A: No sorry we don’t have a kit for that currently and the seat frames are quite different so quite a lot of modification would be needed.  However we do offer a VE GTS upgrade that fits straight onto any VE seat frames.

Q: Will BA/BF Xr6 seat base foams Fit my FG/FGX XR model?

A: While the BA/BF seat base foam Is not an exact match to FG they are so close that many people use them successfully.  The bolsters are 10-15mm higher on the BA foams but all other dimensions are near identical. So we happily use them on our projects.

Q: Will the BA/BF XR seat base foams fit my G6E?

A: No, these foams are not compatible with G6/G6E/G6E turbo models.

Q: What is your address?

A: Our Address is: 5/35 Lusher Rd, Croydon, VIC, 3136 AUSTRALIA (Behind National Storage)

Yes you can send parts for re-trimming and/or returns to this above address.

Q: Are your leather trims airbag compatible?

A: Yes, our airbag seams are sewn on all correct machinery and by expert technicians with correct qualifications and accreditation to ensure the airbags will deploy as per the factory specifications.

Q: Can you do it cheaper / discount?

A: No sorry, we don't negotiate our prices, they are set at the right price for us to do an excellent job and we don't compromise our quality standards. The kits are great value at these prices anyway. We do occasionally run sale events though so look out for those.

Q: Where is it made? Country of Origin

A: We make some of our kits, foams and other products here in Melbourne Australia and some of our kits are made for us, to our exact specifications and quality standards by a Malaysian supplier of ours we have been working with for over 20 years. All of our patterns are unique and developed and perfected by us here at SeatSkins HQ in Croydon, VIC, Australia.

Q: Why are the holes for headrests, lumbar support handles etc. not cut/marked only?

A: This is industry standard and our standard, most motor trimmers prefer it to be marked only so they can adjust a little and cut the holes where the cover is fitting up best, this way they are just a guide to know you have everything centred/in close to the correct position without being forced to fit the trim exactly where the holes line up, instead you fit the cover how it fits and looks best then adjust a little when cutting the holes.
